Prayagraj: Daraganj police on Thursday arrested four people on the charges of assaulting a man after passing objectionable comments on his wife near Mela Road.DCP (City) Maneesh Shandilya told TOI that a group of 4 to 5 miscreants allegedly assaulted Rajnish Singh, a resident of Jhunsi, when he, along with his wife, was going to Magh Mela on Jan 30.
Rajnish Singh told police that he and his wife were going to take a holy dip in Sangam on Jan 30. At Panda Crossing, an unidentified man passed some remarks on his wife. When he raised objections, the miscreant and his supporters allegedly assaulted him and left him in injured condition. An FIR was registered under appropriate sections of BNS and 4 of the accused were arrested. The police, however, claimed that there was no physical assault on the woman. tnn
