Buxar: A 35-year-old man died after being hit by a truck while crossing the road near Jyoti Prakash Chowk in the town on Friday.The victim, identified as Lakshman Ram alias Narayan Ram, son of Musafir Ram, and a resident of Kamarpur village under Mufassil police station area, was returning from work around 2am when the accident took place. He worked at a hotel and also with a catering team.After the accident, he was rushed to sadar hospital, where he was given first aid and later referred to Patna for better treatment. However, he died on the way.On receiving information, the Town police station took custody of the body and conducted a postmortem. The body was later handed over to the family.SHO, Town police station, Manoj Kumar Singh, said an FIR will be registered and further legal action will be taken after investigation.
