Man booked after his pet injures woman in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: A dog owner was booked by police after his pet attacked a woman out on a morning walk in HSR Layout on Jan 26. The woman, Shalini Dubey, sustained injuries to her face and neck after the dog attacked her without any provocation and is undergoing treatment.Her husband, Satya Prakash Dubey, filed a complaint with HSR Layout police, accusing the dog owner, Amaresh Reddy, of letting his pet lose. Based on Dubey’s complaint, police booked Reddy under BNS sections 117 (causing voluntary hurt), 125 (rash or negligent acts that endanger human life or personal safety) and 291 (negligent conduct with respect to animals).The incident took place around 6.55am in HSR Layout’s Teachers’ Colony. The dog lunged at Shalini, pushed her down, and attacked her. It bit her on the face, hands, and legs. Reddy made a futile attempt to pull back his pet but succeeded in it a little later and Shalini regained her footing.
