Mahoba local news: In Mahoba, a teenager placed a pole on the railway track, Jhansi-Prayagraj passenger train was stopped; chaos ensued

Mahoba.  On Saturday, a teenager grazing cattle placed a cement pillar on the Jhansi-Manikpur railway track. The loco pilot of the Jhansi-Prayagraj passenger train stopped the train after seeing the pillar and informed the control room. GRP and RPF teams also reached there along with the police. After removing the pillar, the train moved forward.The police have taken the accused teenager into custody and are questioning him. Near Raiwara village, on Saturday morning at 11:45, the loco pilot of a train going from Jhansi to Prayagraj saw a cement pillar (used for fencing along the tracks) placed on the track and immediately stopped the train. Police investigation made it clear that mischief was behind the incident. The 16-year-old teenager who placed the pillar was taken into custody. He is a resident of Raiwara village.In Mirzapur too, a fire extinguisher was found in the middle of the down line track near Jivanathpur railway station. A goods train was passing at that time. In both the cases, a major accident was averted due to the presence of mind of the loco pilot. Lucknow-Chhapra Express left from Ballia station at around nine in the morning.

The loco pilot applied emergency brakes

Around 10:40 am, the loco pilot saw a big piece of stone on the track about 300 meters before the Manjhi bridge between Bakulha-Manjhi railway station. The speed of the train was about 100 kilometers per hour. Loco pilot Sanjeev Kumar applied emergency brakes, but the stone hit the engine’s safety guard and broke into pieces. The loco pilot informed Manjhi railway station and after a safety check, left for Chhapra with the train.Additional Superintendent of Police Vandana Singh said that the teenager’s intention was not criminal but based on the complaint of the railway track inspector a case has been filed against him under the Railway Act for affecting the railway track.
