Ludhiana advocate carjacked: One accused nabbed.

Ludhiana: A day after an advocate was carjacked by three motorcycle-borne miscreants in Machhiwara area, the police have arrested one of the accused and recovered the vehicle of the advocate. The arrested accused has identified as Gurpreet Singh of Dhindsa village in Samrala. Complainant Kamaljit Singh of Gurugarh village, who is an advocate by profession and secretary of the bar association, Samrala, was going in his car when three accused parked a scooter in front of his car and surrounded him. They forcibly opened the window of the car and took out the key.The cops said one of them was identified as Avtar Singh of Dhindsa village in Samrala. The accused reportedly attacked the complainant with an intention of killing him.The complainant managed to run away and save his life. The accused chased him and the accused, who snatched the his car, took away the vehicle. On the basis of the statement of Kamaljit Singh, a case was registered against Avtar Singh and two unknown persons.The police added that during investigation of the case, the role of Avtar Singh’s co-accused Harjot Singh of Aloud village in Khanna and Gurpreet Singh of Dhindsa village in Samrala has come to light and they have been named in the case. They suggested that taking this case as a challenge, during a very difficult investigation through human resources and technical resources, Gurpreet Singh was arrested on Friday and the snatched car was recovered from his possession.The police said separate teams had been formed and raids were being conducted to arrest the remaining accused in the case.
