Lucknow: The Lucknow University Affiliated Colleges Teachers’ Association (LUACTA) has opposed the revised fee structure introduced by Lucknow University for affiliated colleges, urging the administration to withdraw what it termed as ‘unjustified charges’.According to the memorandum sent to the vice-chancellor, LUACTA raised objections to fees proposed for registration, alumni, practical examinations, internships, marksheets and sports. The association questioned the need for a separate registration fee of Rs 250 per semester when students already pay LURN and enrolment-related charges.LUACTA also objected to the Rs 100 per semester alumni fee, arguing that students are already associated with their respective colleges’ alumni system. It also questioned the proposed Rs 100 practical examination fee and Rs 300 internship charge, stating that colleges already incur expenses related to practical examinations and internships.The association further opposed the Rs 100 marksheet fee and Rs 50 per semester sports fee, citing the financial burden on affiliated colleges and students.LUACTA president Manoj Pandey said, “The revised fees will put an additional burden on students and affiliated colleges. We have requested the university to reconsider the charges and withdraw the fees that are not justified. If the decision is not reviewed, the association will be forced to launch an agitation.”
