Lokayukta sleuths conducts raids on four govt officials in disproportionate assets cases

Bengaluru: Sleuths of the Karnataka Lokayukta Thursday launched simultaneous raids at 29 places, including residences, offices and the residences of relatives linked to four govt officials across Bengaluru, Davanagere and Dharwad, in connection with alleged disproportionate assets cases.In Bengaluru, searches were carried out at premises associated with HM Janardhan, superintendent engineer with Karnataka Residential Educational Institutions Society (KREIS), and Purushotham Das Hegde, chief engineer and project director of the Karnataka State Highway Development Project (KSHDP). In Davanagere, the raids were conducted on properties linked to Arjun RH, assistant executive engineer (civil), Bescom. In Dharwad, the raids were conducted on properties of Somalingappa Fakkirappa Siddanagoudar, survey supervisor, assistant director of land records (ADLR) office. During the raids, police found gold, silver, cash, sites, houses, agricultural land, vehicles and other items worth Rs 11.3 crore belonging to Purushotham; Rs 4.4 crore belonging to Janardhan; about Rs 2.2 crore owned by Arjun; and Rs 1.8 crore owned by Somalingappa.
