The mayor reviewed the current status of the vacant land, ownership records and boundary demarcation. She directed officials to prioritise safeguarding all municipal land and ordered immediate demarcation of plots, along with fencing and boundary walls, to prevent encroachment. At Hariharpur and Hasanpur Khewli, she proposed constructing a Kalyan Mandap (marriage hall) along with landscaped parks. The facilities are expected to provide accessible venues for weddings and social functions while generating steady revenue for the civic body. This also reduced dependence on private marriage lawns. The Mayor further instructed officials to explore options for developing parking spaces, community centres and commercial activities to maximise revenue generation.“We are retaining our encroached land from illegal occupants. To ensure it is not encroached again, we are in the process of first demarcating the land with boundaries, then further exploring other civic amenities as per the demand of the localities,” the mayor said. The municipal commissioner said that a detailed land survey will be completed soon.
