NEW DELHI: In an attempt to demonstrate their global reach and resolve, the Lawrence Bishnoi syndicate has claimed responsibility for a high-stakes operation targeting ISI henchman Shahzad Bhatti in Portugal. It is unclear if Bhatti, a Karachi-based gangster-turned terrorist, survived the assault. The local police there is yet to issue a statement. Bhatti is identified as a Pakistan-based underworld figure who operates a sophisticated criminal network with deep ties to state intelligence agencies. He is described as a key proxy for the ISI, tasked with orchestrating cross-border terror modules and recruiting Indian youth through social media platforms to carry out high-profile strikes.
His operations have been linked to significant security incidents, including a hand grenade attack on the Gurdaspur City Police Station and various plots targeting high-risk individuals across India. Beyond terrorism, Bhatti is alleged to command an extensive smuggling syndicate involving arms and narcotics, using his international reach to challenge rival factions like the Bishnoi gang. Bhatti also appears in local YouTube videos and acts as a social media influencer to tap Indian youths to work for him. Recently, Delhi Police had arrested three of his shooters from Delhi, Punjab and Madhya Pradesh. This module was involved in last year’s grenade attack outside a police station in Punjab’s Gurdaspur, which was carried out on Bhatti’s instructions. Bhatti has been coordinating operations from Pakistan using encrypted platforms and social media channels, the Delhi Police had said in a statement. Interestingly, Bhatti had even tried to tap Bishnoi and released a morphed video of them having a conversation over a video call after he failed, said a source. The latest attack, claimed by Bishnoi’s high-ranking associates Randeep Malik and USA-based Anil Pandit,.on social media intended to serve as a formidable warning to those they perceive as adversaries. “This strike reinforces the group’s standing as a force that operates without geographical limits, asserting that no distance is too great when it comes to defending the honor of their incarcerated chief, Lawrence Bishnoi,” said a source.Furthermore, the dispatch revealed a previously undisclosed operation in Brazil on June 22, 2025. In that instance, the Lawrence-Randeep alliance reportedly deployed a specialized Mexican mafia team to Tagva Tinga, and while the target narrowly escaped then, the gang’s persistent pursuit highlights a relentless operational drive. The group’s communication was marked by a tone of absolute defiance, making it clear that their actions are fueled by a commitment to their cause. The statement asserted that anyone standing against their nation or “Lawrence Bhai” would find no sanctuary, regardless of which corner of the world they occupy. The Lawrence Bishnoi group has transformed from a regional powerhouse into an expansive international network characterized by loyalty and a strict code of conduct. Despite being behind bars for years, Bishnoi remains the central figure of an organization that commands hundreds of dedicated operatives across the globe. Initially gaining fame for their principled stance regarding the blackbuck poaching case involving actor Salman Khan, the group has since expanded its influence significantly. They have moved beyond local disputes, positioning themselves as guardians who take decisive action against those they deem “anti-national.”By coordinating complex movements across continents—from the streets of Brazil to the coastlines of Portugal—the syndicate has demonstrated a level of strategic sophistication rarely seen for crime gangs. “The collaboration with international entities and the presence of key figures in the West illustrate a group that has mastered the logistics of global influence,” said a source tracking these gangs.
