Laptop, iPad, hearing aids stolen from Ambawadi clinic

Ahmedabad: An unidentified burglar broke into a hearing care clinic in Ambawadi and decamped with electronic devices and medical equipment, police said on Thursday. The theft came to light on the morning of Feb 5.According to the complaint lodged by Devang Bhavsar, 41, a doctor who runs the “Ear Can Hear” clinic near Parimal Garden, the break-in took place sometime between 11pm on Feb 4 and 10.30am the next day. The clinic remained closed during this period.Bhavsar told police that his clinic usually opens at 10am, with his father arriving earlier. On Wed, however, his father travelled to Surat, and the clinic was opened by Bhavsar himself before he left for professional visits to Nadiad and Borsad later in the morning.On Thursday, Bhavsar’s father reached the clinic around 10.15am and noticed that the door latches were broken and the door was open. He immediately alerted his son, who rushed to the spot. Inside, the clinic was found ransacked, with items scattered across the floor.The stolen items include a Lenovo laptop valued at around Rs 50,000, an iPad worth about Rs 10,000, three hearing aids, and 5 to 7 hearing devices. Police said an unknown person likely gained entry by breaking the door latch and fled with the equipment. A case of theft was registered, and CCTV footage from the area is being examined to identify the suspect.
