Lalduhoma launches ‘Mizoram CSR Connect’ portal

Aizawl: Mizoram CM Lalduhoma on Tuesday inaugurated the CSR Matchmaking Portal, “Mizoram CSR Connect,” developed by the Mizoram CSR Cell under the state planning & programme implementation department in collaboration with UNDP India, in Aizawl.The portal aims to link Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) contributors with implementing agencies to improve coordination and streamline CSR initiatives in the state.Addressing the programme, Lalduhoma thanked UNDP India, the planning & programme implementation department and the Mizoram CSR Cell for developing the platform. Citing CSR data for 2023–24, he said Mizoram received only 0.06 per cent of India’s total CSR expenditure, and called for stronger CSR engagement in the state.He said the CSR Cell was set up in the CM’s Office in June 2024 to strengthen CSR-related initiatives, and described the portal as a transparent, structured digital platform to bridge CSR donors and seekers.The CM said the portal is expected to improve the ease of doing CSR in Mizoram while ensuring transparency, accountability and measurable outcomes for corporates.Highlighting Mizoram’s strengths, Lalduhoma said the state’s peaceful environment, low corruption rate, high literacy level, progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the people’s spirit of ‘tlawmngaihna’—the Mizo traditional value of selflessness — make it an ideal destination for CSR investments. He invited corporates and civil society organisations to participate, assuring CSR funds would be used in a transparent and impactful manner.UNDP India resident representative Angela Lusigi called the portal a commendable initiative with national and global relevance, and said UNDP was proud to partner in it. She reaffirmed UNDP India’s focus on sustainable development, women empowerment and environmental conservation.Lusigi said UNDP would continue collaborating with Mizoram, underscoring the role of data-driven planning in achieving development outcomes. She said the portal would support CSR stakeholders through reliable data and informed decision-making.
