Kanpur: Under the Sambhav campaign, Kanpur Nagar topped in the state ranking, released on Jan 31, with 75.5 points.Farrukhabad stood second with 74.8 points followed by Shravasti at third position with 71.01 points, Varanasi with 70.3 points and Chandauli with 70 points. Meanwhile, Firozabad remained at the last, 75th position, in the state with 45.5 points. Prayagraj stood at 74th position with 47.4 points and Kasganj at 73rd position with 48.5 points. DM Jitendra Pratap Singh congratulated chief development officer Diksha Jain and district programme officer Preeti Sinha on this achievement.Under the Sambhav campaign, 1,850 children in the SAM (Severe Acute Malnutrition) category were identified in the district. After regular health check-ups, medical management and continuous follow-up, improvement was recorded in the health of 1,837 children. Through continuous monitoring and focused efforts, 834 children moved out of the SAM category into the normal category, while continuous progress was recorded in the health of the remaining children. The total percentage of health improvement in children was 99.30 %, on the basis of which the ranking was done.Special focus was given on SAM as well as on severe underweight children in the 0-6 months age group. To eliminate the gap between the number of registered breastfeeding mothers and children aged 0-6 months, all identified children were registered on the e-Kavach portal. One hundred per cent follow-up of low birth weight infants was ensured by ASHA workers.Health monitoring of pregnant women was also an important criterion for the ranking and the percentage of weight gain in pregnant women was recorded at 99.90 %. During the campaign, 100% pregnant women in the district underwent health check-ups and vaccination.During the campaign, the CDO conducted regular and result-oriented monitoring of the entire campaign. District programme officer Preeti Sinha said that in the campaign, work was done simultaneously on all parameters related to SAM, severe underweight children and pregnant women. The top ranking was achieved through data-based monitoring and coordinated efforts of Anganwadi workers and ASHA.
