Patna: Vigilance Investigation Bureau (VIB) on Wednesday arrested a junior engineer, Harishankar Kumar, for accepting a bribe of Rs 12,000. The arrest was made at the Kaluahi block office in Madhubani district. The VIB received a complaint from Aryan Kashyap, whose firm, completed a sanitation vending machine installation project in Pali Mohan gram panchayat. The junior engineer demanded a bribe for releasing the payment of approximately Rs 3 lakh.The VIB team, led by DSP Mohammad Wasim Firoz, laid a trap and caught the junior engineer red-handed while he was accepting the bribe. The team is currently investigating the matter, and the accused will be produced before the special court in Muzaffarpur on Thursday for further legal action.
