Varanasi: ISARC Varanasi on Thursday played host to 13 farmers from Jharkhand’s Chatra district, empowering them with cutting-edge knowledge on modern agricultural practices, resource-efficient technologies, and climate-resilient farming solutions.
This exposure visit is a significant step towards promoting sustainable agriculture and enhancing farmers’ understanding of innovative farming techniquesThe visit to the International Rice Research Institute – South Asia Regional Centre was coordinated in collaboration with N K Singh, head of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Varanasi, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen farmer capacity building and knowledge exchange on rice-based cropping systems across the states.
ISARC scientists highlighted the importance of cross-regional farmer learning: “Such exposure visits empower farmers to adopt innovations that sustainably enhance productivity and resilience.
We value these collaborations with KVKs and farmer groups from across India.”During the visit, the farmers explored ISARC’s research and demonstration facilities, including the Mechanisation Hub and Regenerative Agriculture demonstration plots. These engagements provided them with first-hand insights into ongoing research, technological innovations, and sustainable farming practices.The visiting farmers were enthused about applying these technologies back home. They appreciated the opportunity to engage directly with leading agricultural researchers .
