Hyderabad: In a significant move ahead of the Feb 11 municipal elections in Telangana, Jana Sena Party announced on Friday that it will contest 336 wards across 11 districts, marking its most extensive participation in local body polls in the state so far.Meanwhile, the party said that its chief Pawan Kalyan‘s proposed tour of Telangana, which was earlier announced, has been cancelled due to unavoidable reasons. No fresh schedule has been announced. The party released district-wise details of the wards it is contesting. Jana Sena candidates have submitted their B-forms, and the nominations have been approved by the returning officers. The party clarified that all its candidates will contest the elections under the ‘glass tumbler’ symbol. Karimnagar has the highest number of Jana Sena candidates at 56, while Mahabubabad has the lowest with five. Party leaders called on cadre and supporters, particularly women members, to actively campaign and work for the victory of Jana Sena candidates at the grassroots level. With nominations finalised and symbols allotted, Jana Sena is gearing up for an aggressive campaign in select urban pockets, positioning the municipal polls as an important organisational exercise in Telangana.
