Porvorim: Govt on Tuesday introduced 9 bills in the state legislative assembly. The bills introduced by chief minister Pramod Sawant include the Goa Jan Vishwas (Laws Amendment) Bill, 2026, and the GIM University Bill, 2026.In his capacity as finance minister, Sawant introduced the Goa Value Added Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2026, which is expected to bring changes to the state’s indirect taxation framework. He also moved the Goa School Education (Amendment) Bill, 2026.
The CM further introduced the Goa Mopa Airport Development Authority (Amendment) Bill, 2026.Three more bills moved by Sawant include the Goa Agricultural Produce and Livestock Marketing (Amendment) Bill, 2026, the Goa Land î –Revenue Code (Amendment) Bill, 2026, and the Goa Mundkars (Protection from Eviction) Amendment Bill, 2026. The last bill is particularly significant as it deals with restricting landlords from transferring property containing a mundkar’s dwelling house to anyone other than the mundkar, unless the mundkar consents.Panchayats minister Mauvin Godinho introduced the Goa Panchayat Raj (Amendment) Bill, 2026.
