Vadodara: Industry leaders in the city welcomed the Union budget on Sunday, saying it maintained a strong focus on manufacturing-led growth.“The budget recognises that a global manufacturing powerhouse is only as strong as its MSME ecosystem,” said Sameer Khera, president of the Federation of Gujarat Industries (FGI).He said fresh capital infusions into the Self-Reliant India (SRI) Fund signalled that the government had moved beyond protectionist measures, enabling MSMEs to upgrade technical capabilities and transition from local vendors to integral partners in global value chains. The Vadodara Chambers of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) also lauded the pro-manufacturing provisions. VCCI officials said the proposed Rs 10,000 crore growth fund for MSMEs would benefit the sector.
