Noida: Floriculture Society and the Noida Authority will hold a four-day flower show at Shivalik Park from Feb 19 to 22. The Greater Noida Authority has also announced its annual flower show from Feb 26 to March 1. This year’s theme in Greater Noida is Calendula, with major roads and roundabouts set to be decorated to enhance the city’s appearance.The Noida Flower Show is expected to add a burst of colour and fragrance to the city as horticulture enthusiasts and residents will gather to aaaaacelebrate nature and floriculture. The annual event showcases a wide variety of seasonal flowers, ornamental plants and creative floral arrangements prepared by gardeners, institutions and resident welfare associations.The show will also feature competitions, themed displays and expert interactions aimed at promoting urban gardening and environmental awareness. Drawing large footfalls every year, the flower show has emerged as a popular platform for encouraging green practices and enhancing the city’s aesthetic appeal.Meanwhile, Greater Noida Authority’s principal general manager, Sandeep Chandra, held a meeting with agencies that adopted green belts, central verges and roundabouts and asked them to plant calendula saplings at the adopted roundabouts, green belts and central verges so that the flowers bloom before the proposed flower show at City Park.In Greater Noida, 40 roundabouts, 45 green belts and 17 central verges were selected for floral decoration. The horticulture department team will also carry out regular monitoring of this exercise.Meanwhile, local residents and resident welfare associations (RWAs) were invited to take part in the event as well as the associated competitions.
