Ahmedabad: On Tuesday night, action was taken to seal an illegal paying guest facility being run from Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC’s) LIG residential scheme in the Science City area, Gota ward. The Everest Enclave scheme under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana consists of six blocks and 336 houses.AMC’s vigilance team (estate/TDO) conducted a surprise raid based on complaints that House No. 305 in Block 2, and House No, 105 in Block 5 were being rented out for paying guests. The team found that House No.105 was being used as a PG facility while House No. 305 was registered as a PG facility on Airbnb. Out of the 336 houses in this complex, 43 were inspected. It was found that one house had been rented out, while 35 were suspiciously vacant. A further inquiry has been ordered.
