Haryana’s State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau has arrested four individuals, including two former IDFC First Bank employees and two private partners, in connection with a Rs 590-crore fraud

CHANDIGARH: Haryana’s State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau has arrested four persons in connection with the IDFC First Bank fraud case, officials said on Wednesday. Among those arrested are two former employees of IDFC First Bank and two private individuals associated with a partnership firm. The arrests were made on Tuesday evening as part of the ongoing investigation. Earlier, the Anti-Corruption Bureau had registered an FIR, and the state government constituted a committee to examine the alleged irregularities. On Sunday, IDFC First Bank disclosed a Rs 590-crore fraud allegedly committed by its employees and others in accounts linked to the Haryana government. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini told the Assembly on Tuesday that strict action would be taken against all those involved. Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Haryana Congress chief Rao Narender Singh have demanded a CBI probe into the matter.
