KANPUR: A video from a private bank in Kanpur showed a female employee, identified as Astha Singh, behaving inappropriately with customers and verbally abusing a customer inside the bank premises, though the authenticity of the video was not confirmed by TOI.The footage showed Astha Singh saying, “I am a Thakur… I will mess you up,” and attempting to hit the customer with a laptop.The incident occurred at a private bank in Panki Sector-2, where Astha Singh worked.After the video went viral, another clip emerged in which Astha Singh, a Relationship Manager, offered her explanation and claimed the video was being shared out of context. With folded hands, she said she did not misbehave with any customer, but had a conflict with the husband of a female contractual employee at the bank.She alleged he provoked her by questioning her caste, which led to her angry reaction, and she maintained her stance, expressing pride in her Thakur identity.For the past two days, the video of Astha circulated widely. The incident dated back to January 6, and Astha was employed at a private bank in Panki.
