Hyderabad: Stray dog attacks 5-year-old girl in Suraram Colony; child suffers facial injuries

HYDERABAD: A stray dog attacked a five-year-old girl while she was playing outside her house in Suraram Colony on Wednesday, leaving her with deep injuries to her face. The victim, Saida Fathima, was playing in front of her home when the dog suddenly pounced on her. Hearing her screams, local residents rushed to the spot, chased the dog away and rescued the child. She was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors treated her for deep facial wounds. Her condition is reported to be stable. Following the incident, officials of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) caught 15 stray dogs and kept them under observation. However, a GHMC official said that since there were several stray dogs in the area, it was difficult to identify the exact dog that attacked the child.
