PM to launch HPV vaccination drive in Ajmer

Jaipur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Ajmer on Feb 28 to launch a statewide Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination campaign aimed at protecting adolescent girls from cervical cancer. During the visit, he will also address a public meeting, unveil development projects worth Rs 16,686 crore undertaken by the Centre and the state govt, and distribute appointment letters to 21,863 youths selected for jobs in various state departments and organisations.The HPV vaccination drive will target girls aged 9 to 14 years and is being seen as a major step towards strengthening preventive healthcare in Rajasthan. The initiative aims to reduce cervical cancer cases through early immunisation, while promoting awareness about women’s health and improving access to healthcare services across the state. As part of the programme, Modi will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for 43 major projects across sectors including urban development, drinking water supply, roads, railways, irrigation, energy and industrial infrastructure. Of these, 34 projects worth Rs 8,554 crore relate to state departments such as urban development, public health engineering, public works, energy, water resources and industries. Nine other projects worth Rs 8,132 crore pertain to national highways and energy. These include the four-lane greenfield expressway from Bandikui to Jaipur, works under the Delhi-Vadodara Access Controlled Greenfield Expressway, elevated road projects in Jaipur and Jodhpur, and the Malbamori-Mangrol-Baran State Highway in Baran district. Foundation stones will also be laid for key drinking water projects under the Nonera and Parvan Akavad schemes. A Rs3,616 crore power transmission system for renewable energy evacuation and infrastructure works in the Jodhpur Pali Marwar Industrial Area will also be launched.
