Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited is ready to provide the new electricity connection within 10 days. Yes, applicants may apply a new electricity connection online through the web portal. It is claimed as a single-window online solution. So, one can upload all the required documents by scanning it and pay through net banking, PayTM or other online means. No need to submit documents and payment manually at the office. Applicants may track the status of an application and get SMS/Email alerts.
Currently, through jhatpat portal only following connection of 1 KW to 20 KW load could be applied
- Domestic (BPL Card Holder) – 1 KW load only
- Domestic (Non-BPL) – 1 KW to 500 KW
- Commercial (Non-Domestic) – 1 KW to 20 KW
- Industrial – 1 KW to 20 KW
- Private Institutional – 1 KW to 20 KW
- Temporary Connection – 1 KW to 20 KW
For other purposes, applicants can apply through Nivesh Mitra Portal.

Steps to be followed by Applicants
Following documents should be ready in your system before applying the new connection
- Passport size photo of the applicant.
- ID Proof: Aadhar Card/Ration Card
- Address proof: Residence certificate by Gram Pradhan(for the rural applicant only)/Registered Sale Agreement/Lease deed/Registered Rent Agreement.
- NOC from Builder/Society for using Service Line (where electrical infrastructure development was not done by the licensee, while Builder/Society has developed it and handed over to the licensee.)
- Personal Bond Download Format (or BL Form by licensed contractor)
Register to the jhatpat portal:
- Find the tab – “For New Registration click here”. It will redirect to the registration form.
- Fill the required field and submit them. You will get a password through email/SMS.
- Now, Login with the given credential and find your dashboard. Click go to the steps. You will find 8 step tab. The applicant needs to complete the first three steps and then the department needs to proceed.
- The first step is about the applicant’s information and needs to submit all required documents.
- Then select the tentative inspection date in the second step. the applicant needs to suggest at least 3 tentative dates.
- The third step is about processing fee payment. Need to pay online with all the available options of Net Banking, Credit/Debit Card, E-Wallet.
- The next steps will be completed by the department.

What is the instant connection scheme of Uttar Pradesh?

The Uttar Pradesh government has introduced a scheme through which electricity meter will be installed at home within just 10 days of applying.
