In a fervent expression of student activism, pupils in Patna have taken to the streets, demanding access to their hostels and vital study materials as they approach critical Intermediate and NEET exams. The hostel’s closure, initiated after a tragic incident involving a student’s death, has left the rooms locked and students in dire need of their textbooks and notes.
My routine was normal. After the incident, I decided not to stay. Today, we came for our notes and books, but entry is denied.”SHO of Chitragupt Nagar police station, Roshni Kumari, said students collected their belongings. “The room where the NEET aspirant was found unconscious is sealed. Presently, no student is living in the hostel,” she added.The hostel was built on disputed land. Owner Manish Kumar Ranjan has a controversial past, including charges of celebratory firing.
