Pune: The Faculty of Medical & Health Sciences (FoMHS), Symbiosis International (Deemed University), through its constituent Symbiosis Centre for Health Skills (SCHS), will organize SYMSIM 2.0 from Feb 5 to 7 at the Lavale Campus.It will deliberate on the transformative role of simulation-based education in healthcare training, which in turn translates to patient safety and patient welfare.
Addressing a news conference on Tuesday, Dr Rajiv Yeravdekar, Provost, FoMHS, said while patient safety remains a global priority, simulation-based education enables healthcare professionals to achieve competence without compromising patient dignity, ensuring ethical, patient-ready and socially responsible care.He added that the academic programme will include hands-on workshops using advanced simulation equipment and task trainers, offering participants hands-on exposure to procedural skills, clinical decision-making and team-based training across multiple healthcare disciplines.Expert lectures, panel discussions and networking sessions will focus on the integration of emerging technologies in simulation-based education, effective communication in high-stress clinical environments, unlearning outdated practices and the adoption of evidence-based approaches. The approach will be skilling, upskilling, and reskilling of healthcare professionals in both clinical and non-clinical domains.Eminent national and international speakers from the UK, the USA, Singapore, Israel, Oman and the UAE are participating as resource personnel for this mega event.
