HC permits duo to submit documents on Arpora structure

Panaji: Bombay high court permitted Pradeep Ghadi Amonkar and Sunil Divker to place on record documents justifying that he put up a legal structure in survey number 158/0 at Arpora.Last week, the HC issued notices to 52 parties in its suo motu petition connected to the fire incident at the Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub, which killed 25, and directed it to detag Amonkar’s petition from the suo motu petition. It observed that Amonkar’s petition did not stand on equal footing with the suo motu case and PILs, which are of public importance.

During the hearing, advocate general Devidas Pangam told the court the petitioners themselves put up the illegal structures and that they should have been made respondents in the suo motu petition.Amonkar’s petition seeks implementation of demolition orders against the Birch by Romeo Lane structures, as well as quashing and setting aside the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority order of Nov 21, 2025, which discharged the show cause notice to Surinder Kumar Khosla and dropped proceedings, concluding that it had no jurisdiction in the matter.
