Lucknow: A 25-year-old woman advocate was allegedly assaulted and molested at a gym in Indiranagar when a minor dispute over exercise escalated into violence, police said.The complainant informed the police that she, along with her younger sister, went to a gym near Polytechnic on Friday morning.
She alleged that a woman, Manisha, entered an argument with her over exercising, which soon turned into a verbal spat.She said that Manisha left the gym in a huff and returned after some time with five men, one of them identified as Vishal. She said that the group allegedly abused and assaulted her.The woman alleged that Vishal tried to snatch her gold chain which broke during the scuffle and Vishal took away a part of the chain.She alleged that her younger sister was assaulted by Manisha with a steel water bottle. “Vishal made obscene gestures while I tried to lift my injured sister, who fell unconscious during the assault,” the complainant said.Inspector Rakesh Maurya of Ghazipur (Indiranagar) police station said a case had been registered and further investigations were on.
