Vadodara: Gujarat chief minister Bhupendra Patel and his Madhya Pradesh counterpart Mohan Yadav attended a mass satsang organised on the occasion of the 92nd birth anniversary of Mahant Swami Maharaj, the spiritual head of the BAPS Swaminarayan sect.The event also marked the 69th anniversary of Mahant Swami Maharaj’s diksha. Union home and cooperatives minister Amit Shah sent a message, which was read out during the programme.Addressing the gathering, Patel said that saints, scriptures and temples form the strong foundation of the nation. He emphasised the importance of humility, citing Mahant Swami Maharaj and his predecessor, late Pramukh Swami Maharaj, as exemplars who made humility a guiding principle of their lives.In his address, Yadav praised the initiatives undertaken through such events to instil the values of service and culture among the youth. He also lauded the contributions of the BAPS Swaminarayan sect in India and abroad.Yadav further highlighted the world record set at the event for the collective chanting of shlokas from the Satsangdiksha Granth, authored by Mahant Swami Maharaj, noting that it surpassed a previous record set in Madhya Pradesh for the recitation of verses from the Gita.
