Jaipur: After adding the country’s largest solar capacity in 2025, the state is now preparing to showcase its large-scale battery storage project before 50 CEOs of the leading solar firms at the Bharat Renewable Expo, which kicks off from Friday.Sources said that senior state govt officials will reach out to the CEOs, positioning the Pugal Solar Park, with 2450 generation and 6,400 MWh battery storage capacity, as a critical destination for investments.Sanjeev Aggarwal, founder and chairman of Hexa Climate, which is developing over 1000 MW of solar projects in the state, said that Rajasthan’s push for storage is transformative.“Battery storage mitigates curtailment risks and allows supply during peak evening hours, ensuring the state’s massive renewable capacity is efficiently utilised rather than wasted,” he said.As renewable energy’s share in the state’s generation mix rises, storage will be vital to ensure reliability and grid stability. Rupal Gupta, founder and CEO of TrueRE Oriana Power Ltd, said, “The state has consistently demonstrated leadership in renewable energy through timely policy decisions. Its focused push towards Battery Energy Storage Systems marks the next critical step.”Supported by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), the state’s Energy Department, and organised by the Rajasthan Solar Association, the expo will showcase not only innovations, products, and technologies from domestic and international renewable energy companies, but also govt schemes such as PM Suryaghar, Kusum, and rooftop solar.RSA President Sunil Bansal said the expo will host a renewable Olympiad and talent fest. “More than 1000 students from 35 technical institutions are expected to attend to get job placements with over 50 leading companies,” added Bansal.A special highlight will be the Surya Ghar Pavilion, where entrepreneurs associated with the PM Surya Ghar Yojana will set up booths to inform consumers about solar panels, subsidies, and financing options.
