Panaji: Govt has launched an AI-powered digital assistant to simplify and strengthen public service delivery across Goa.The chatbot was developed by the department of information technology in collaboration with Goa Electronics Limited (GEL). Integrated with the Goa Online portal, the AI assistant enables citizens to interact with govt services through a simple, conversational interface instead of navigating complex forms and multiple webpages.Officials said the chatbot acts as a single digital assistant that can guide users across multiple services. Citizens can submit applications, track their status, download certificates, access payment receipts, and seek assistance directly through chat-based interactions.Chief minister Pramod Sawant said the chatbot marks a milestone in Goa’s digital evolution. Sawant said the platform enhances transparency, improves efficiency, and brings governance closer to citizens through a responsive and personalised interface. Referring to the national momentum around AI, he noted that Goa is showcasing real, citizen-centric AI implementation on the ground.IT minister Rohan Khaunte said the state is moving from dialogue to deployment in the AI space. Khaunte said the Goa Online portal has already consolidated numerous govt services by reducing physical visits and long queues. The AI chatbot, he said, will automate routine service interactions, reduce departmental workload, and ensure 24×7 availability, with plans to expand across all govt departments. The chatbot is in beta phase, and citizen feedback is invited to improve and expand it.
