Govt: Campaign launched to repair roads in Mahoba

Lucknow: Hours after a spat broke out between Jal Shakti minister Swatantra Dev Singh and Charkhari MLA Brij Bhushan Rajput over the poor condition of roads and a lack of water availability, the state govt issued a statement that a comprehensive campaign was launched in Mahoba district to address the problem. “Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, a comprehensive campaign was launched in Mahoba district to reconstruct roads damaged after pipeline installation work. Most of the roads were repaired, and extensive steps are being taken to expedite the completion of the remaining work,” a state govt spokesperson said.He said the district administration clarified that the agencies concerned were instructed to prioritise the reconstruction of pending roads to facilitate smooth transportation in rural areas.In five projects implemented in Mahoba district under the Jal Jeevan Mission, approximately 1131 kilometres of roads were damaged during pipeline laying. Of these, restoration work was completed on approximately 1118 kilometres of roads, while the reconstruction of the remaining roads is in progress.According to the administration, the road reconstruction was carried out by the departments concerned in accordance with the prescribed standards.
