Gorakhpur. There was chaos at the railway station bus station on Monday morning when the AC Janrath bus, which was ready to go to Lucknow, caught fire from a short circuit. The accident took place at 11:40 am at that time, five passengers were sitting in the bus, who escaped and saved their lives.
Eyewitnesses said that smoke suddenly started to rise from the driver cabin in the AC Janrath bus of Raptinagar depot, then the flames erupted in a few seconds. The passengers made noise and saved their lives by jumping from the bus immediately.
Roadways personnel immediately informed the fire brigade, but by the time the fire brigade reached the spot, the front part of the bus and the driver’s cabin was completely burnt. Other buses parked in the premises were excluded as a precaution.
It is believed that the short circuit is on fire. After the accident, there was an atmosphere of fear and stress among the passengers. People shivered to think that if this accident was in a moving bus, then the situation could have been frightening.
Due to this accident, traffic came to a standstill for about 30 minutes on the route coming from the railway station towards the roadways. Cantt police station and roadways management is present on the spot.
