GMC school gets AI lab for 238 female students

Ghaziabad: GMC has inaugurated an AI and digital lab for 238 female students at the Municipal Corporation School in Bhaipura. It aims to strengthen digital education and introduce students to emerging technology. Set up with CSR support from Adama India Pvt Ltd, the lab at Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Saraswati Vidya Mandir is equipped with 20 computers, an LED screen and internet access. Officials said the facility is intended to help students develop basic computer literacy and early exposure to artificial intelligence tools. Teachers are being encouraged to integrate digital resources into classroom teaching and begin structured computer classes. Students from classes 6-12 will benefit from the initiative.A senior official said access to technology is increasingly essential for young learners. “The initiative was taken under the municipal commissioner. Digital skills are no longer optional. Early exposure helps girls build confidence, understand new tools and prepare for future education and employment opportunities,” the official said. “Providing such facilities in municipal schools ensures that students from all backgrounds get a fair chance to participate in a technology-driven world.”At the inauguration ceremony, as part of a waste-reuse initiative, the students displayed a selfie point made out of recycled materials. The display drew appreciation from officials and visitors.School staff, representatives from the supporting organisation and local officials attended the event. Authorities said similar digital labs are being introduced in other municipal schools to expand access to technology-based learning.Officials added that combining classroom education with digital training can improve learning outcomes and encourage greater participation of girls in science and technology fields. School authorities said regular sessions will be planned to familiarise students with computers and digital applications in the coming months.
