Ghaziabad dhaba owner who stabbed 2 to death held

Ghaziabad: The 42-year-old owner of the dhaba where two men were killed and another injured in a clash was arrested on Sunday. A fight had broken out between three friends and the staff over a delay in service at the dhaba in Khoda.According to police Dharmendra Sharma, a resident of Etah, runs the dhaba called Vaishnav Pure Vegetarian Restaurant on Ambedkar Road in Khoda colony’s Ajanta Park area where the incident took place.Around 10pm on Friday night, friends Shri Pal, Satyam Kumar and Anurag Kumar went to the dhaba for dinner. They were drinking in an e-rickshaw outside the dhaba when a fight allegedly broke out between the trio and dhaba staff. The friends were brutally beaten and stabbed by the dhaba staff, police said.They were all brought to a hospital in Delhi for treatment, where Satyam and Shripal were later declared dead. Anurag is still undergoing treatment in Delhi.Shri Pal’s brother Gopal Singh later filed a complaint in the case. An FIR was subsequently registered against multiple persons under BNS sections 103 (murder), 109 (attempt to murder), 191(2) (rioting), 191(3) (rioting armed with deadly weapon), and 190 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object) at Khoda police station, said DCP (trans-Hindon) Nimish Patil.During interrogation, Dharmendra told cops that the three friends had gotten into an argument with one of the workers, Nagesh, over ordering food. One of the victims allegedly slapped Nagesh, and then returned to a lane near the dhaba. Dharmendra, Nagesh and other workers became agitated and a group of them decided to attack the trio with sticks and knives.“While all the accused fled the spot when a large crowd gathered, police arrested Dharmendra when he was trying to leave the city on Sunday,” the DCP said.Teams have been formed to trace and arrest the other accused in the case, police added.
