Hyderabad: Governor Jishnu Dev Varma on Monday said the Congress govt has earned the trust of the people and is working towards a radical transformation of Telangana through its long-term Vision-2047 roadmap.Addressing a gathering at the Parade Grounds on the occasion of the 77th Republic Day, the governor described the Vision-2047 document as a comprehensive blueprint for inclusive and sustainable development. “The ‘praja prabhutvam’ (people’s govt) established two years ago under the leadership of chief minister A Revanth Reddy achieved remarkable milestones and earned the trust and appreciation of the people. On completing two years, the govt took a bold and visionary step by launching the Telangana Rising Vision-2047 document. In doing so, the govt laid a comprehensive road map for inclusive and sustainable development,” he said. Linking the state’s aspirations with the national goal of Viksit Bharat, the governor said while India aims to become a $30 trillion economy by 2047, Telangana has set an ambitious target of emerging as a $3 trillion economy. Regional developmentHe said the Vision-2047 framework, unveiled at the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025, focuses on balanced regional development through three economic zones. These include CURE (core urban region economy), with Hyderabad as the growth engine; PURE (peri-urban region economy) between the Outer Ring Road and Regional Ring Road with a focus on manufacturing; and RARE (rural agriculture regional economy) beyond the RRR, centred on agriculture, green economy and agri enterprises. He outlined key projects such as Gandhi Sarovar at Bapu Ghat, metro rail phase II, greenfield highways, radial roads, dry ports, Warangal and Adilabad airports, and industrial corridors linking Hyderabad with Nagpur, Bengaluru and Vijayawada. On agriculture, he said farm loans up to Rs 2 lakh were waived at a cost of Rs 20,617 crore, benefiting around 26 lakh farmers, while Rythu Bharosa assistance was enhanced to Rs 12,000 per acre per year. He said the state procured about 72 lakh metric tonnes of paddy from 14.24 lakh farmers this kharif, with payments of Rs 17,079 crore and a bonus subsidy of Rs 1,453 crore. Telangana, he added, emerged as a leading paddy producer and exported rice to many countries. He also cited the formation of a farmer commission and replacement of the Dharani portal with the Bhu Bharati Act, calling these measures revolutionary game changers.On employment and education, the governor said recruitment for Group I to IV posts was completed and 62,749 youth were provided jobs through various agencies. He highlighted initiatives such as the Digital Employment Exchange of Telangana, Young India Skill University, plans for a sports university, ITI upgrades, an education commission and new integrated residential schools. New OGH is temple for poorOn health and social justice, he said a new Osmania General Hospital is being built at a cost of Rs 2,700 crore, describing it as a ‘temple for the poor.’ He also mentioned the socio-economic survey, SC sub-caste categorisation, fine rice distribution, Indiramma Indlu (houses) and welfare measures for weavers.The governor also referred to GHMC expansion, EV incentives, Bharat Future City plans, Musi riverfront development, action against tank encroachments by HYDRAA, major road upgrades, life sciences and clean energy policies, anti-drug enforcement through EAGLE, and Telangana police’s top ranking in the India Justice Report 2025.
