Aurangabad: Four girls have gone missing from Tilauta Bigha village under the Deo police station area of Aurangabad district, prompting the police to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to trace them.Speaking to this newspaper on Saturday, SP Ambarish Rahul said that on Jan 20, 2026, Ravindra Yadav of Tilauta Bigha, son of late Vanshi Yadav, submitted a written complaint stating that his daughter, Runi Kumari, had left home without informing the family and did not return. During the preliminary inquiry, it emerged that three other girls—Komal Kumari, Sweety Kumari and Kashish Kumari—had allegedly lured Runi and taken her along.Based on the complaint, Deo police registered case under relevant sections of law and began the investigation. Considering the seriousness of the matter, a special team has been constituted under the leadership of the Deo officer-in-charge to ensure the recovery of all four girls.The SP said that during the investigation, police learned that Komal Kumari and Sweety Kumari had earlier gone missing on Sept 16, 2025, without informing their families but returned two days later, claiming they had gone on a trip. Later, on Jan 9, 2026, Komal, Sweety and Kashish again went missing together. However, their families did not inform the police due to the repeated nature of such incidents. On Jan 18, 2026, their friend Runi Kumari also left home on the pretext of going to school and has been missing since.The SP added that the SIT is using technical surveillance and all possible means to trace the missing girls. Raids are being conducted at suspected locations, and efforts are underway to recover them at the earliest.
