Fire at chemical unit in Isanpur brought under control, no casualties

Ahmedabad: A fire that broke out at a chemical factory in Isanpur on Sunday was brought under control after a swift response by the Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services (AFES). The blaze erupted at a manufacturing unit located in Gurukrupa Estate, in the lane near Moni Hotel, triggering thick plumes of dark, acrid smoke that were visible from a distance and drew anxious crowds on the adjacent road.Officials said eight fire tenders and several water tankers were pressed into service to douse the flames before they could spread to neighboring industrial sheds. The fire, which was confined to a chemical godown containing flammable raw materials, was controlled after sustained firefighting efforts lasting over two hours.Extensive cooling operations were underway well into the evening to prevent re-ignition among the volatile chemical residues. No injuries or casualties were reported as the facility was largely unoccupied at the time. The exact cause of the fire is being investigated, with officials looking into a potential short circuit or chemical reaction..
