Hyderabad: Nalgonda police have launched a new initiative to help the public register complaints and file FIRs, under a citizen- and victim-centric policing approach aimed at ensuring easier access to justice. As part of this initiative, the Kanagal police in Nalgonda district on Thursday registered a complaint by visiting the victim directly. The case involves Bolligorla Guruvayya of Madanapuram village, who sustained injuries in an assault and was undergoing treatment at Suraksha Hospital in Nalgonda. The matter came to the police’s attention, following which the district superintendent of police intervened and instructed the Kanagal sub-inspector to take immediate action.Since the victim was unable to visit the police station due to his injuries, police personnel went to the hospital, recorded his statement on the spot, and registered the FIR there. tnn
