Noida: Police have registered a complaint after a Sector 128 resident was allegedly dragged on road and brutally assaulted at wedding procession on Feb 10. While no complaint was submitted by the victim, police started a probe after a video of the incident surfaced on social media.According to police, Himanshu visited his maternal aunt’s house in Chhaprauli village, Sector 168, to attend a family wedding. During the groom’s procession, he allegedly got into an argument with some locals.The one minute and 11 seconds video shows the youths dragging Himanshu, who was dressed in a white shirt and trousers, onto the road and kicking and punching him repeatedly. One of the attackers is also seen hitting him with a stick.
Later in the clip, another man grabs Himanshu by the collar and drags him towards a vehicle, allegedly telling others to put him inside the car.Police said the incident occurred on Tuesday but no formal complaint was filed by Himanshu or his family, hence, after the video surfaced, police took action and contacted Himanshu. A complaint has now been filed. Officials said efforts are underway to identify and arrest the accused individuals seen in the video.
