Farmers’ profit possible with innovations: Shivraj

Union agriculture minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan was the chief guest at a farmer dialogue programme and visited the Krishi Vigyan Kendra located at Masaudha in Ayodhya, informed Raghavendra Singh, director of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) ATARI Zone-3 Kanpur. Agriculture minister UP Baldev Singh Aulakh was present as special guest at the programme. Senior officials, public representatives and scientists also participated. Singh stated that the Union agriculture minister interacted with farmers. The minister, emphasising adoption of modern agricultural techniques, drone usage, mechanisation and crop diversification, said that significant increase in farmers’ income is possible through scientific methods and innovations. He particularly appreciated the integrated farming system of farmer Shobha Ram and the drone technology innovations by Sabina Khatoon. Various problems of farmers were also discussed. RB Singh, Extension Director, Acharya Narendra Dev University of Agriculture and Technology was also present on this occasion. The Union minister and other guests planted guava saplings at Krishi Vigyan Kendra premises. tnn
