Fairyhouse’s Monday card has been cancelled after the track failed a morning inspection.
An initial inspection was passed on Sunday despite 41mm of rain having fallen in the previous 24 hours. However, more showers followed, which brought the total to 55mm since entries were made.
“Following 6mm of rain this morning, the track here at Fairyhouse is unfit for racing and the fixture scheduled for today has been cancelled,” IHRB clerk of the course Brian Hamilton said.
“Unfortunately, we have had prolonged periods of rainfall here, the 6mm since our update yesterday afternoon was on top of the 49mm we’ve had since entries and the ground just could not take any more rain which has left us with no choice but to cancel today’s fixture.”
