Bhilwara: Tonk police’s district special team (DST) along with Diggi station police Tuesday raided a factory in Diggi town that allegedly produced adulterated milk using soybean oil, Dalda ghee and other chemical powders, and supplied about 80,000 litres daily to markets in Jaipur, Ajmer and Tonk.The police team that raided the factory seized 5,500 litres of adulterated milk, five pickup vehicles, one milk tanker, and materials including 2,100 litres soybean oil, 500 litres Dalda ghee, 550 kg milk powder, 2,500 kg lactose, and 105 kg caustic soda.
Police arrested five persons present at the spot and said investigation revealed that the factory was operated by Sonu Yadav, a native of Bahrod, Haryana.Police said the accused mixed milk powder and lactose in water to give it the colour of milk, used caustic soda to prevent it from spoiling, and used Dalda and soybean oil to increase fat. Tonk SP Rajesh Kumar Meena said Diggi police had registered a case in the matter and a team from the food safety department colllected samples of the adulterated milk from the factory.Those arrested were identified as Kalu, 22, resident of Tonk, Raju, 21, Mahipal, 22, Shivraj, 25, and Omprakash, 45, all residents of Ajmer.
