Pune: Crime Branch officials on Monday afternoon arrested a 32-year-old woman from Bibvewadi who had been externed from the jurisdictions of Pune city, Pimpri Chinchwad and Pune rural for two years in 2024. She was found allegedly manufacturing illicit liquor on an open plot near Gangadham Chowk.A team led by API Rajesh Malegave of the Crime Branch nabbed the woman after receiving a tip-off.According to the police, her externment period is still in effect. The woman along with her two female aides was taken to the Bibvewadi police station, where a case under the Prohibition Act was registered against them. She has previously been arrested in six separate cases related to the production and sale of illicit liquor. These offences were registered under the provisions of the Prohibition Act.On Monday afternoon, the police team was patrolling the area when they received information about her activities. Upon reaching the spot, the team found the woman along with her two female accomplices — all residents of Bibvewadi — allegedly manufacturing illicit liquor on the open plot.The woman along with her two female accomplices was taken to the Bibvewadi police station, where a fresh case under the Prohibition Act was registered against them.
