Bhubaneswar: Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA) has directed all district education officers to ensure the distribution of school uniforms to Sishu Vatika students in govt and govt-aided schools by Feb 15.The uniforms will conform to the standards prescribed for Class I students, including colour, quality, quantity, logo and overall specifications.
In a directive issued on Wednesday, OSEPA stated that an amount of Rs 1,000 per student was released to all districts to facilitate the procurement and distribution of uniforms. The process will follow the existing financial and procedural norms applicable to classes I to VIII. The uniforms will be supplied through a select group of SHGs, micro and small enterprises or school management committees (SMCs) which will be approved by the district-level committee chaired by the collector. In line with the National Education Policy (NEP)-2020, Sishu Vatikas (pre-schools) were launched in 45,000 primary schools across the state last year. A total of 3,10,849 children will be provided with uniforms. OSEPA directed education officers to closely monitor the implementation and ensure that the uniforms are distributed within the stipulated timeline.
