Lives and homes are possibly under threat in Edgewater and Joondalup this afternoon after a bushfire watch and act was issued for the suburbs in Perth’s north, next to Edith Cowan University and Lake Joondalup.
The watch and act was issued for residents at 4.50pm in the area between Edgewater Drive, Outlook Drive, Treetop Avenue, Joondalup Drive and Lakeside Drive.
DFES says there is a possible threat to lives and homes and conditions are changing.
The bushfire is moving in a northeasterly direction, and firefighters are on the scene with support from waterbombers.
DFES have urged people to avoid the area if possible.
