Varanasi: A 42-year-old man Rambhavan Yadav, was killed, while his elder brother Vijaybhan Yadav (50) suffered grave injuries when their relative Ramjeet Yadav attacked them with a knife in Khantiya village under Ghosi police station of Mau district on Friday night.Mau ASP Aoop Kumar said that, on the complaint of the wife of the deceased, an FIR was registered against four persons, including Ramjeet Yadav and his father, Vijendra Yadav. Raids were carried out by police teams at all possible hideouts of the accused, he said, claiming they would be arrested soon.During the initial police investigation, it came to light that Rambhavan and Vijaybhan were having dinner when their cousin, Vijendra, reached there in an inebriated state and started hurling abuses at them. When Vijaybhan asked him to stop abusing and go to his home, Vijendra called his son, Ramjeet, and they attacked Vijaybhan. When Rambhavan tried to save his brother, Ramjeet stabbed him in the chest and beat him on the head with a stick before fleeing the scene.Rambhavan and Vijaybhan were rushed to the district hospital. On seeing a sharp deterioration in Rambhavan’s condition, doctors referred him to a higher centre, but he died on the way. Vijaybhan was discharged after receiving first aid. Police sent Rambhavan’s body for post-mortem.
