Digital education initiative expands across UP: Rajeshwar Singh

Lucknow: The digital education initiative launched in Sarojini Nagar in 2022 is now expanding across Uttar Pradesh, said MLA Rajeshwar Singh while welcoming the state govt’s decision to establish digital libraries across Gram Panchayats.Singh expressed his gratitude to chief minister Yogi Adityanath for taking forward the vision of strengthening digital education at the grassroots level.Singh said that under the Digital Shiksha Abhiyan initiative, more than 450 computers were provided to 37 schools and colleges, benefiting over 30,000 students. The MLA said the programme also focused on developing digital libraries and smart classrooms, enabling students to access digital learning material and IT-based educational resources alongside conventional teaching. He said the expansion of the initiative across rural Uttar Pradesh was an encouraging development, particularly for students in villages who often have limited access to advanced educational facilities.According to Singh, digital libraries have so far reached 113 Gram Panchayats, while the govt plans to extend the facility to 223 Gram Panchayats. The initiative is expected to bring books, digital content, computers and other technology-enabled learning facilities closer to students in rural areas. He said the expansion reflected the govt’s commitment to ensuring that modern educational opportunities were not restricted to urban centres and that students in villages also had access to technology-driven learning.
