Bhilwara: Rajasthan’s Director General of Police Rajiv Kumar Sharma during his one-day visit to the district Monday said criminals hiding abroad would be brought back to the country through a judicial process to face the strictest legal action. He also directed the police to speed up disposal of pending cases and cybercrime issues.Sharma interacted with police officers and personnel at the Bhilwara Police Line ground and held a meeting with the Ajmer Range police officers at the Bhilwara Collectorate auditorium.
He instructed police officers of Ajmer Range, including SPs, ASPs and DySPs of Bhilwara, Ajmer, Tonk, Beawar, Kuchaman and Nagaur districts, to immediately dispose of pending cases. He said that providing swift justice to victims in any case was police’s top priority. He directed the police to take strict action with sensitivity in serious crimes and said it was police’s accountability to emphasise time-bound disposal. Senior IPS officer VK Singh, Ajmer Range IG Rajendra Chaudhary, Bhilwara SP Dharmendra Singh, along with SPs, ASPs and DySPs from all districts of Ajmer Range, were present. After the review meeting, Sharma addressed the press at the Bhilwara SP office auditorium and said, “The purpose of the meeting was to review police action taken last year and review police priorities in the current year.” He said instructions were given regarding prevention of illegal mining in the state and added that in 2025, Bhilwara ranked first in the state to act against illegal mining. Sharma said police have zero-tolerance policy on prevention of drug trade, working on cybercrime, and monitoring and controlling hardcore criminals. He said new provisions have been introduced under different sections regarding property acquired through crime, and effective action should be taken under those provisions. The DGP praised the Special Investigation Team (SIT) for its work in paper leak cases. He said in the recent recruitment exams there was no paper leak anywhere, calling it one of the biggest achievements. Answering a question on the Lawrence Bishnoi gang’s role in threatening industrialists, Sharma said, “When such things come to light, we take action against them and are continuously working in that direction.”
