Ahmedabad: The principal and administrative head of Seventh Day Adventist School in Khokhra have been served notices by the district education officer (DEO) over incident. Despite a parent approaching him with complaint over the incident, authorities discovered that the principal failed to report the matter to designated monitoring officials, including the education inspector (EI) and officials appointed to supervise the school’s administration. Officials stated that even minor incidents were typically reported to them, making the failure to report this serious assault a matter of concern. Authorities suspect there was an attempt to suppress the incident.Ahmedabad city DEO Rohit Chaudhary demanded a written explanation from both the principal and the administrative head. A detailed inquiry has also been ordered and assigned to senior officials. Education authorities indicated that strict action, including suspension or termination of the principal and administrative head, may be taken depending on the outcome of the investigation.Reports also emerged that the principal remained unavailable since the incident. Parents have expressed concern over student safety and are demanding accountability. Some parents are also calling for action against monitoring authorities, including the DEO and EI, questioning their oversight of the school’s functioning, sources said. According to Chaudhary, a new principal had already been appointed before the govt took over.
